Christian Louboutin for Marlon Gobel Preview

With his junior collection due out Spring/Summer 2011, luxury footwear designer Christian Louboutin made true on the rumors by designing an exclusive collection for Gobel’s Fall/Winter 2011 menswear presentation during New York Fashion Week this past Thursday. Complementing Gobel’s line were a range of Louboutin’s motifs from hybrid gold colored spiked slippers and the calmer nude suede slippers with bauble details on the front. Here’s a preview look at the presentation.

Pharrell Williams for Domeau & Pérès “Velo” Bike

Pharrell revisits an old acquittance in Domeau & Pérès to produce a new upcoming bike. The aptly titled “Velo” is made of 4130 chrome moly seamless airplane grade steel and over 100 man hours invested in upholstering the bike in water buffalo leather. The hand-stitched bike will be available in various colors with only one bike per color. Available now at the Gagosian Store with a price tag of €20,000.00 (approx. $27,250 USD).

Wikipedia - 10th Anniversary

Here this installation by the artist Dean McNamee representing the activity of Wikipédia uninterrupted. Within the framework of the 10 years evening of the site to the Foundation Louis Bloind (London), a series of 18 printers produced on paper the contributions of the Net surfers in real-time.

Concept villas Dubrovnik, by Zaha Hadid Architects

Zaha Hadid Architects have designed two prototype villas for a site overlooking the historic town of Dubrovnik in Croatia.

The concepts, named “Rock” (top) and “Shell” (above), have been developed to help define the architectural style of the resort, which will eventually consist of 400 villas plus hotels and a golf course.

TEK by BIG

Danish firm Bjarke Ingels Group have designed a technology centre for Taipei, Taiwan, comprising a cube-shaped structure with round voids cut from its volume.

Called TEK (Technology, Entertainment & Knowledge Centre), holes in the structure will create a spiral within the volume, forming access routes from street level into the building and up to its roof.

The building will be made up of concrete lamellas, an arrangement of stacked thin plates, that will recede in the centre and function as a staircase where the holes have been cut into the structure.

Lady Gaga for Supreme in Purple Fashion

Purple Fashion Magazine might have unveiled the latest happenings from Supreme as we see a new editorial featuring Lady Gaga in a classic Supreme box logo tee, while holding a tote with the logo as well. Not much information is available but stay tuned as this could be one of Supreme’s most interesting campaigns to date.

Dr. Martens Spring/Summer '11 'Two-Tone' Series

Continuing with this season's 'red sole' releases, the doc drops a batch of shoes with two-tone uppers. The classic 3989 wingtips are one the favourites from Dr. Martens, and although it's far from the first time their available in with two-tone uppers, the red airwair soles give them an extra dimension. The Doane Duple 5-Eyelet is a new model and is a take on classic saddle shoes. They're both also available in black leather on black suede versions.

Dr. Martens Langley Windsor

Dr. Martens has been extremely active in its pursuit of diversifying its portfolio of footwear. Beyond its more iconic models, we’ve seen the move towards several different chukka boot style iterations including this most recent offering, the Langley Windsor. Unlike the usual use of leather, canvas is seen over several colors which are available now at select retailers.

Kevin Lyons @ colette Exhibition Recap

Kevin’s latest show for colette consists of a number of drawings, illustrations, paintings, prints and installations that explore the vibrant, colorful language of reggae and dancehall culture. Both a student and an avid collector of early reggae and rock steady, Lyons combines his formal interests and skills in simple illustrated characters, bold typography and the fun rolling poetry of the language itself. The sheer volume, variety and repetition of this poetry and the visual screaming monsters who repeat it all throughout the space creates its own silly but heartfelt rhythm. Shots from the exhibition opening are offered below.
